|概況

香港理工大學（英語：The Hong Kong Polytechnic University，PolyU），簡稱理大，是一所坐落于香港的公立綜合性研究型大學。學校成立于1937年，為香港歷史最悠久的大學之一，是香港8所受政府大學教育資助委員會資助并可頒授學位的高等教育院校之一，中俄工科大學聯盟成員高校。

在2016-2017年的QS世界大學排名中，香港理工大學排名世界第111位，香港第5位，其中在計算機科學領域位居世界49位。2015年，英國QS亞洲大學排名將香港理工大學列為亞洲第27位，香港第5位。根據2015年《美國新聞與世界報道》（US News）大e學排名，學校在工程學上位列全球大學第9位，全港第1位

學校於1999年成立了企業發展院，2012/13年度，理大科技及顧問有限公司為約350家機構提供了約530項顧問服務，總業務收入逾1.1億港元。理大自2006年起，七度獲香港中小型企業總商會頒發“中小企業最佳拍檔獎”。截至2013年6月，學校與合作伙伴簽訂逾160項協議，讓他們特許使用理大開發的新科技。

學校亦推行獎勵計劃鼓勵創新發明，并重視維護知識產權，截至2013年6月，學校獲得逾150項專利，另約370項發明正進行專利申請，2013/2014年度，學校處理了76份專利權申請書，正式提交專利申請共67份，獲得的新專利發明共49項。此外，學校還成立了一項“理大微型基金計劃”，為理大學生、校友提供種子基金，以激勵創新創意思維，支持他們創立個人事
